Dr Barry Holmes qualified in 2004 from the School of Dentistry at King’s College London, before going on to attain his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons of England (MFDS), and then an MSc (with distinction) in Dental Implantology at the University of Bristol.

A skilled provider of dental implants, Dr Holmes has attended several hundred hours’ worth of advanced dental implantology courses in Italy, Spain, across the UK and in Switzerland. As a general dental practitioner, Dr Holmes regularly carries out multi-disciplinary cases combining oral surgery, IV sedation, restorative dentistry, orthodontics and dental implants. He also has a special interest in cosmetic dental treatments.

Dr Holmes is a registered mentor for the Straumann Dental Implant System and a full member of the BDA (British Dental Association), ADI (Association of Dental Implantology), and an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry. He was also the study club director for ITI South Wales for almost seven years.

Outside work, Dr Holmes has a young family (son and daughter) with whom he likes to spend time (i.e. teaching his daughter how to ride a bike and listening to his son, a David Attenborough in the making, teach him about all things animal-related). He enjoys playing guitar, reading about astronomy, science, technology and architecture, and he is also an avid sportsman, playing football, tennis and doing fitness training.

Anjani’s practice is limited to oral surgery and she has been providing this treatment for over 15 years in her capacity as a Speciality Doctor in Oral Surgery in the hospital dental service.

Anjani graduated with honours from Guy’s, King’s & St. Thomas’ School of Dentistry in 2005 with Merit in Clinical Dentistry, Merit in Child Dental Health & Orthodontics and Distinction in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology & Oral Radiology.

Following a year of foundation training in Hampshire and a rotation in the Community Dental Service at St David’s Hospital in Cardiff, Anjani began her career in oral surgery. This started with a post as a Senior House Officer in oral surgery within the Cwm Taf University Health Board where she worked at Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil and the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant. She then became a specialty doctor in oral surgery in these departments where she remains today, attaining her Membership of Faculty Dental Surgeons of England in 2008 along the way.

As well as her hospital commitments, Anjani also provides oral surgery services in primary care for Abertawe Bro Morgannwg, Cwm Taf University and Aneurin Bevan Healthboards at clinics in Swansea, Porth and Blackwood, helping to provide comprehensive oral surgery services across South Wales in both general practice and hospital settings.

Anjani has a special interest in surgical extractions and wisdom teeth removal. She has a passion for treating nervous patients with her exemplary calming and compassionate manner. To complement her caring approach, Anjani has acquired vast experience in using intravenous (IV) sedation techniques to aid the management of people anxious about dental treatment.

Anjani has a pivotal role in the Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement programmes within the hospitals and regularly leads audits on improving services in the secondary care setting. She has applied this at Holmes Dental Care in becoming our compliance officer. Anjani is consolidating her management and quality assurance services by embarking on a MSc in Leadership in Healthcare at the University of South Wales.

Outside of work, Anjani enjoys spending time with her family, reading and cooking and dreams of having more spare time(!).

Dr Jess Weymouth first graduated from the University of Nottingham with honours in Chemistry before going on to graduate with honours in Dentistry at Peninsula Dental School. On returning home to Cardiff, she has worked in both practice and hospital settings gaining valuable skills in restorative dentistry, paediatric dentistry and maxillofacial surgery.

Jess has completed postgraduate examinations to become a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow and has presented at national level at the BDIA conference on the topic of dental trauma.

Jess is a general dentist with a keen interest in Invisalign and prides herself on minimally invasive dentistry with excellent aesthetic results. Her style of dentistry is gentle and empathetic, to help even the most anxious patients feel at ease for all aspects of their dental care.

Alongside dentistry, Jess offers facial aesthetics and TMJ treatments with high quality, safe injectable products, having completed facial aesthetics training from Dr Bob Khanna, a leading global expert in the field.

Jess loves the environment and, when not in work, enjoys paddleboarding, yoga and hiking. She is committed to providing sustainable dentistry with a drive to reduce single use plastics and recycle as much as possible, having recently partnered with the Terracycle scheme.

Cassandra graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 2006 with first-class honours. Since then, she has worked in many areas of South Wales, before finally settling in Cardiff.

After ten years dedicated to the NHS, Cassandra decided to further her education and embarked on a three-year Master’s degree in Endodontics. Passing with distinction in 2019, she now provides advanced endodontic care to the highest level in private dental practices.

Cassandra works at ease with a dental microscope, and is skilled at taking and diagnosing from CBCT scans, so you can ensure you are in good hands.

Outside of work, Cassandra has a busy family life with her two daughters and husband, who are all very active with plenty of interests. When time allows, she enjoys photography, crafting, and baking and cake decorating for family and friends.

Keri qualified from UWCM, Cardiff in 2002 and obtained her membership with The Royal College of Physicians, Glasgow in 2005. Her focus since qualifying has been on developing her skills in oral surgery. Following senior house officer and staff grade posts, she completed her final membership examination in Surgical Dentistry with the Royal College and was delighted to be admitted onto the specialist list in Oral Surgery in 2010.

Keri is currently employed by Cwm Taf University Health Board as a Speciality Dr in Oral Surgery and works at Prince Charles Hospital, Royal Glamorgan Hospital and Brecon War Memorial Hospital. She also conducts treatment sessions at Porth Dental teaching unit and is actively involved in the teaching of medical and dental students and postgraduate dentists.

Keri is particularly interested in treating those patients who may be nervous or apprehensive about their oral surgery procedure. She endeavours to make this as relaxed and calm as possible, using intravenous sedation if appropriate.

In her spare time, Keri is normally running around after her two small children, who keep her on her toes. When relaxing, she enjoys drawing and painting.

Romina qualified as a dentist from the University of Malta in 1999. In 2003, she moved to the UK to complete her MSc in Forensic Dentistry, for which she received a distinction. Romina has since worked in a variety of settings in Wales, including hospital, emergency services, NHS, and private general practice.

As well as being an experienced multi-disciplined general dentist, Romina has a particular interest in adult orthodontics and is a full Invisalign provider. She is committed to remaining updated with the latest improvements in this field, and is currently completing a postgraduate diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy, which she is due to finish in March 2025.

Outside work, Romina loves spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors and travelling. She also enjoys learning and practising any form of craft, including needlework and house refurbishing.

Hannah worked as a qualified dental nurse for almost seven years before making the decision to go back to university and train as a dental therapist. She graduated from Cardiff University with a first-class honours degree in dental therapy in 2023.

Hannah loves helping patients feel at ease in both the dental practice and her care. She also enjoys working with them to improve their overall oral health.

Outside of work, Hannah enjoys going to the gym, spending time with her family, and, most importantly, taking care of her 20 reptiles!

Emma achieved her Diploma in Dental Hygiene with a distinction from Cardiff University in 2018, and joined the team at Holmes Dental Care in March 2024.

Emma loves working as part of such a fantastic multi-disciplinary team, achieving incredible results for every patient. She enjoys getting to know her patients, and her caring attitude helps anxious patients feel at ease during their appointments. Emma also loves helping people improve their oral and overall health with regular appointments and tailored advice.

Outside of work, Emma loves spending time with her husband and daughter. She also enjoys catching up with friends over good coffee, listening to podcasts and reading. Emma also stays active by hiking and going to the gym.

Nicki has been a dental nurse since the age of 16 (so a very long time!) and achieved her BADN qualifications in 2005. Nicki is currently training for a qualification in sedation nursing.

Nicki enjoys her career as a dental nurse, helping patients through their dental journeys. She hopes she brings a calm nature to the role and can draw on her wealth of knowledge to help our patients.

In her spare time, Nicki loves to spend time with her family and friends and with her fur baby.

Rima joined our team in April 2024, and is currently studying for her NEBDN National Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing.

Rima loves her job, and especially enjoys that it is never predictable and no two days are ever the same. She loves seeing patients leaving the surgery delighted with the smile they always wanted, after years of being unhappy with the colour or shape of their teeth. She finds the transformation in their confidence makes it all worthwhile.

Rima enjoys helping patients with her caring and gentle attitude. She especially loves it when children visit the practice excited to see the dentist and to tell them how well they have been brushing their teeth. Rima likes being part of the team that can educate children in the importance of oral health for life.

Outside of work, Rima loves to spend time with her friends and family. Her favourite hobby is painting, which she enjoys doing to relax.

Cath joined Holmes Dental Care in 2024, having come from an HR background. She loves learning more and more about dentistry every day, and enjoys working with such a great team.

Cath loves getting to know the patients and being part of their dental journeys at the practice. She really values the chance to interact with lots of different people and help their experience at the practice be a positive one every time.

Away from work, Cath loves animals, and has two dogs that she absolutely adores! She is also an enthusiastic amateur gardener, and enjoys getting out in the garden whenever she can. Cath also loves to read, and often has at least two books on the go at any time!
