Why choose single dental implants?
Dental implants are an excellent treatment to replace single or multiple missing teeth because they look and feel like natural teeth.
The procedure to place implants and replace a missing tooth or multiple teeth is straightforward as there is often little need to treat surrounding teeth and once a crown is placed over the implant it will appear indistinguishable from the natural teeth. Meaning that you can eat virtually anything, talk and laugh without worrying and feel confident socially and at work.

Dental implant treatment
Dental Implant treatment usually involves a number of stages beginning with an initial consultation and planning phase where a comprehensive assessment is undertaken by Dr Barry Holmes.
This stage is followed by a preparation phase where a small titanium screw (the implant) is placed into the jawbone. The titanium implant fuses with the jawbone to form a strong ‘root’ for the new tooth. Next, a healing cap is fitted to the implant to extend the root and allow the gum to heal. During the final phase a crown is attached to the post to fully restore the appearance and function of the missing tooth. The implant and crown will perfectly match the appearance of the surrounding natural teeth and it’s unlikely anyone will be able to tell the difference.
When one or two teeth are missing, a single implant is used per tooth, however if we are replacing a row consisting of three or more teeth, it is often possible to reduce the number of implants used by attaching ‘bridges’ to connect the replacement teeth. Dr Holmes will create a bespoke treatment plan for your
dental needs based on a detailed assessment of your situation.

FAQS
What are dental implants?
Implants are small titanium screws that replace the root of a tooth beneath the gum line. The titanium screw is inserted into the jaw and, after a few months, it fuses to the bone. Capped with ceramic crowns or bridges, dental implants provide a long-lasting and natural looking solution to missing teeth. Dental implants can look and feel like the real thing and can help to restore your smile and if properly cared for can last a lifetime.
Can anyone have a dental implant?
Not everyone is suitable, but the majority of people are and implants are often more affordable than most people think. Find out if you are suitable by booking an implant consultation with us.
How long will implant treatment take?
The planning stage of implant treatment is the most crucial stage, as we need to ensure that treatment matches your requirements and lifestyle. The planning stage typically takes around two to three weeks, and includes a ‘case presentation’ where we will discuss every aspect of your treatment before treatment begins. This can be presented via virtual consultation if this suits you where there is ample opportunity to ask questions and seek clarity of treatment details. You are more than welcome to bring a partner, family member or friend along for the presentation should you wish. Implant treatment duration can vary from 3 to 6 months for straightforward cases up to approximately 12 months for highly complex cases. However, the benefits of dental implants will last for many years.
How long will a dental implant last?
Dental implants require the same care as normal teeth. If excellent oral hygiene is maintained, with regular brushing, flossing and frequent dental and hygienist visits then implants can last a lifetime.
What is the cost of dental implants?
Implant treatment fees are listed in our fees page on this website. We appreciate that dental implants can be a significant investment, which is why we offer a range of payment options including 12 months interest free credit as well as other finance options.
